Hero Arts Holiday Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts Holiday Blog Hop! Today we are featuring some of the fabulous products from the 2014 Holiday Catalog and hope to give you lots of inspiration for your holiday card making.

My card features the Peace Poinsettias clear stamp set. This gorgeous flower is perfect for many coloring techniques and I chose to use Distress Inks to create a watercolor effect

This stamp set also has a coordinating die that will help speed up your holiday card making, but I didn't use the die in the traditional way today. I trimmed out the flower and leaves by hand right next to the embossing so there was no border. Then I used the dies to die cut the flower and leaves on a white panel. When the flower is inlaid, you are left with a gap that will allow the color of the card base to show through. So fun!

Giveaway

Hero Arts will be giving away one GRAND PRIZE that includes an assortment of stamps, inks, stencils and dies valued at over $75. In addition, two $10 Hero Arts Online Store gift cards will also be awarded. The three prize winners will be randomly selected from all comments received on the participating designers' blogs, so the more comments you leave along the hop, the better your odds of winning! The giveaway closes at 11:59pm PST on Thursday, Oct 2 and the winners will be announced on the Hero Arts blog on Friday, Oct 3.

Your next stop on the hop is the sweet and talented Donna Mikasa

Hero Arts + A2Z Scrapbooking Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts + A2Z Scrapbooking Blog Hop! Today we are celebrating A2Z Scrapbooking as a new Hero Arts digital retailer. Currently, A2Z offers a selection of our digital goodies, but in the coming weeks, they will be adding to their collection and stocking the entire range.  So artists from A2Z and Hero Arts have teamed up to provide you with a whole host of inspiration and fun using these digital products.

Today I created a vellum window card using two digital products: The Firmament digital kit and the Constellation printable.

First, I printed the sentiment in black on white cardstock and the blue constellation background onto vellum.

Then I die cut the medium sized star from the Stylish Stars Frame Cuts to create a window on the sentiment panel. I also die cut the same star on my card base, so the vellum star would be visible from the inside of the card as well.

The small scattered stars are from the Star Background Fancy Die. I just colored them with a rainbow of Distress ink colors and covered them with Glossy Accents.

And here's what the card looks like opened...

To add to the excitement, A2Z Scrapbooking will be giving away a $50 gift certificate to one lucky commenter. Prize winners will be randomly selected from ALL comments received on the participating designers’ blogs. The more comments you leave along the hop, the better your odds of winning, so be sure to comment on every blog! You have until Sunday August 31st at 11:59 EST to leave your comments and the winner will be announced on the September 3rd on the A2Z Scrapbooking blog.

The next (and final) stop on the hop is the A2Z Scrapbooking blog

Hero Arts + BasicGrey Grand Bazaar Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts + BasicGrey Grand Bazaar Blog Hop! I'm excited to be here today to show you some of the awesome new stamps, stencils, papers and embellishments in this new collection!

On my first card I created a little grouping of items using stamps from the You Make Me Smile clear stamp set, the mixed brads and chipboard stickers. How adorable is that fox flair?!?!

For my next card I used the Tiny Triangle Pattern Stencil to create the background. I pulled out some coordinating Hero Arts inks and used a sponge dauber to ink over the stencil. I found that Hero Arts Navy, Orange Soda, Ultra Pink and Tide Pool are perfect matches for this collection!

The sentiment is from the the same clear stamp set I used on the card above -- such great messages for cards!

To celebrate this release, Hero Arts and BasicGrey will be giving away two Grand Bazaar prize packs -- including paper, embellishments, clear and cling stamps, and stencils! The two winners will be randomly selected from all comments received on the participating designers' blogs. Comments must be received by 11:59pm PST on Wednesday, June 11. The more comments you leave, the better your odds of winning!

Also, there is a great sale going on over at Hero Arts! All stamps and stencils from the Hero Arts - BasicGrey Grand Bazaar collection are 10% off June 6-13 in the Hero Arts Online Store.

There are also some great deals on BasicGrey 6x6 paper pads here.

New Hero Arts!

Hi there! Today I'm over on the Hero Arts blog sharing a card using some new products from the Starry Nights catalog. And while I had my supplies out I thought I'd make another card using the same supplies to share here.

The sentiment is from the Shoot for the Moon clear stamp. I absolutely LOVE this set -- so many awesome sentiments!

I used watercolor paints to create the blue and green gradient background. And then I used the Starry Night stencil along with white embossing paste for the stars over the top. Love the texture and dimension the embossing paste adds!

 Thanks for stopping by!

A Blog Named Hero Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to my stop on the A Blog Named Hero Blog Hop! You should arrived here from Sarah Gray's blog.  I'm thrilled to be apart of the hop today celebrating ABNH's 2nd birthday!

For my card I stamped and embossed the awesome Birthday Chart stamp onto some watercolor paper.

Then I colored over the embossed image with Distress Markers, spritzed it with water and let the colors mix.

Once the image was dry, I used the iron off technique to iron off the embossed sentiment, creating a perfectly smooth image.  I am addicted to this awesome technique that I learned from Jennifer McGuire...HERE is a video she did showing you exactly how to do it.

Also, I used the Bubble Confetii stencil for the background. I just rubbed VersaMark ink over the openings of the stencil and then dusted on some Perfect Pearls to create the shiny silver dots.

Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win a prize from Hero Arts or Simon Says Stamp!

Your next stop on the hop is Sindhura Prajay!

Hero Arts + BasicGrey Spice Market Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to my stop on the Hero Arts + BasicGrey Blog Hop!

Today we are featuring some gorgeous products from the new Spice Market collection. There are two clear stamp sets and three backgrounds to coordinate with the collection and let me tell you, they are amazing!!!

My first card features the Flower Symbol Background paired with some items from Kelly Purkey's new Mon Ami collection.

I love the subtle tone on tone background created with clear embossing powder. And this is a stamp that will work well with many different styles.

Next up, I've made a card with the Best Time Ever clear stamp set. This set has so many great images for building your own backgrounds.

I just did a video for Hero Arts that shows how I made the pattern on this card as well as two others using stamps from Spice Market -- you can check it out HERE.

To celebrate the release of Spice Market, Hero Arts and BasicGrey are having an awesome giveaway!

BasicGrey: Fresh Cut

Hey there! Today I've got a couple cards to share using the gorgeous BasicGrey Fresh Cut collection.

There are so many adorable chipboard stickers in this collection and one of my favorites is the rainbow/cloud that I used below.

I adhered the chipboard sticker to a frame and transparency and then popped it up with some foam adhesive on my card. I thought that cute little smiley face was a perfect little embellishment to finish off the card.

And I just have a sneak peek of the second card I made -- you can check out the whole card on the Simon Says Stamp blog! I combined the Fresh Cut collection with some great Simon Says Stamp products!

Thanks for stopping by today!
